Winner of Best Music Video, Maori Language Awards Finalist & success in Europe!
TRIBUTE: Toni Huata, a now internationality known performer from Hastings and based in Wellington, during last night's tribute to late Kahurangi Performing Arts School founder Tama Huata.
Emotion was the order of the night as some of New Zealand's top musical talent was celebrated and a late industry giant was commemorated at the national Waiata Maori awards.
The awards recognised many artists and among the award recipients was Wellington-based Toni Huata, from Hastings, a finalist in two categories and recognised for the Best Video of the Year by a Maori artist, for the production Hopukia Te Tao, heading off four other finalists, including Six60.
Toni was very happy to return to this auspicious evening celebrating the achievements of many and supporting her family with this tribute.
Toni has returned from a very successful trip to WOMEX World Music Expo in Budapest, Hungary, Vienna Austria, Toyko Japan and just now from AWME in Melbourne, Australia.
Toni Huata and Adrian Wagner partnership Waahuu Creations is also a finalist in the Private Sector for the Maori Language Awards later in November.
